The Hostel No 1 has a modern architecture and a capacity of 245 places which were distributed to the students of the first two years of education at the Medicine Faculty No 1.
The hostel was built in 1957. The reconstruction works were carried out starting from April 2022 till August 2023 and over 50 million lei (2.5 million euros) was allocated from the institution’s budget for their implementation. A reading room was arranged for students with 40 places and a group education room, endowed with computer technology, a laundry and a drying room. The hostel was endowed also with two panoramic lifts.
„One of the principal goals of the strategic plan on development of USMF Nicolae Testemitanu is to improve the living conditions for the beneficiaries of education. Some of the investments allocated in the University’s infrastructure are directed to the reconstruction and modernization of the hostels. Thus, the Hostel No 8 was made available for living two years ago and in the next years, we are set to modernize another three hostels of the student campus from the Malina Mica district, where 15 hostels are placed in all,’’ USMF Rector Emil Ceban said.
Presently, the Hostel No 2 of the USMF Nicolae Testemitanu is under capital reconstruction.
