Deputies Alexandr Nesterovschi, Irina Lozovan under arrest

Chisinau, 25 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- MP Alexandr Nesterovschi was arrested for 30 days, and deputy Irina Lozovan got 30 days of house arrest. The two are being investigated in a criminal case on the illegal financing of political parties.

According to the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, the decision was made by the magistrates of the Chisinau Court, Ciocana headquarters, who accepted the prosecutor's actions on preventive arrest regarding the persons detained on September 21.

The court ruled to arrest for 30 days activist Mihail Bagas, candidate for the position of mayor of the capital from the League of Cities and Municipalities, who was also detained on September 21.

Last week, deputies Alexandr Nesterovschi and Irina Lozovan were left without parliamentary immunity, and later they were detained, being accused in a file of illegal financing of political parties. This March, both Lozovan and Nesterovschi left the Communists and Socialists Bloc faction and joined the Movement for People party. Later, they joined the Renaissance party.
