Moldovan president has meeting with Minister of Armed Forces of France

Chisinau, 25 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has welcomed in Chisinau Minister of the Armed Forces of France Sébastien Lecornu, with whom she discussed the excellent dynamic of the bilateral friendship relations and the strengthening of Moldova’s defence capacities, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state said that it was the first visit to Moldova by a French defence minister, which proves the high level of trust between the two countries. The Moldovan president thanked Minister Lecornu for the strong support provided by his country in Moldova’s European integration way, as well as for the backing for the consolidation of the national security and defence.

In the context of the war at the border, the support of France in the security sector will help Moldova be more resilient to challenges and to contribute to the edification of a stronger and more united Europe. The Moldovan president noted that France was a reliable friend and Moldova values this friendship, which helps the country make progress and consolidate its democracy.
