Moldova to get 105 million euro-grant from European Commission

Chisinau, 26 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will receive a grant of 105 million euros from the European Commission. Government today approved the initiation of negotiations and the approval of the signing of Amendment No2 to the Financing Agreement between the Moldovan government and the European Commission on contract on consolidation of the state and resilience for Moldova.
The amendment provides for additional funding of 105 million euros as a grant, thus increasing the budget of the support program up to 240 million euros, which will be disbursed in two additional installments by late 2023.
According to the Ministry of Finance, this financial support will back steps to mitigate the socio-economic impact caused by the increase in energy prices, will increase the state's ability to provide services to vulnerable groups and support efforts to ensure energy security in the Republic of Moldova.
The financing agreement was signed in Brussels on December 15, 2021.
