Moldovan central electoral commission accredits 20 international observers for monitoring of general local elections

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today accredited 20 international observers for the monitoring of the general local elections.
According to CEC, 13 out of all observers were accredited at a request by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), five ones – on behalf of the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO) and one representative on behalf of the Swiss Cooperation Office/Representation of the Embassy of the Swiss Cooperation in Moldova and Romania’s Permanent Electoral Authority each.
CEC has earlier accredited another 19 international and 149 national observers.
Also today, the Commission confirmed two journalists who represent a regional TV station for the coverage of the general local elections. Since the beginning of the electoral period, CEC has confirmed another 24 journalists on behalf of four mass media institutions.
The general local elections will be held on 5 November 2023.
