37,000 citizens to get higher benefits

Chisinau, Oct. 5 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament approved today in the first reading amendments to the social insurance budget law for 2023. Following the amendments, 37,000 citizens will get higher benefits.

Under the draft, total revenues to the state social insurance budget will be increased by 152 million lei - from 38.6 billion lei to 38.8 billion lei. The state social insurance budget expenses will increase by 152 million lei and will reach 38.8 billion lei.

The increase in spending is necessary for the additional allocation of 84 million lei to increase by 250 lei the monthly allowance received by certain categories of disabled people who fought in the World War II, who were involved in liquidating the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, the victims of political repressions. Almost 37,000 citizens will get increased benefits. At the same time, 90 million lei will be spent on granting energy compensation.

21 million lei will be earmarked for the protection of the unemployed. The money is meant for the training of the unemployed, the scholarship for those who follow a professional training course and the state subsidies for job creation.
