Customs Service collected over 667 million lei last week

Chisinau, Oct. 9 /MOLDPRES/- On October 2-8, the Customs Service collected over 667.9 million lei (about 33.3 million euros) to the state budget.
Private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeded the non-taxable limit, and payments totaling over 27.8 million lei were collected, which represents 4.2% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
The past week, 12,755 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 79,705 crossings. The most transited customs posts remain Leușeni and Sculeni, with 18,940 and 14,207 crossings, respectively.
In the fight against fraud, 83 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 395 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 26.02 billion lei to the state budget, 2.6% more compared to the same period last year.
