Moldovan parliament delegation attends PACE autumn session

Chisinau, Oct. 9 /MOLDPRES/- The Moldovan parliament delegation attends the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The meeting is held in Strasbourg, on October 9-13.
The parliamentary delegation includes: the head of the national delegation to PACE, the deputy head of the foreign policy and European integration commission, Ion Groza, deputy speaker Mihail Popșoi, deputy head of the human rights and inter-ethnic relations commission Natalia Davidovici and secretary of the national security, defense and public order commission Constantin Starîş.
The event's agenda includes debates on several current topics, including: ensuring peace in Ukraine and sustainable security in Europe, discussions on the death of migrants at sea, the humanitarian situation in Karabakh region, etc.
The issues are related to the role of the Council of Europe in preventing conflicts, restoring the credibility of international institutions and promoting global peace; the challenges of far-right ideology for democracy and human rights in Europe; Pegasus software, similar spy products and secret state surveillance.
Václav Havel prize in the human rights for 2023 is to be awarded.
