GENERAL LOCAL ELECTIONS-2023: Synthesis of 16 October day

Chisinau, 16 October /MOLDPRES/ - The today’s electoral agenda comprised a presentation of solutions to de-block the traffic in Chisinau, suggested by a candidate for the office of Chisinau mayor, Vadim Branzaniuc, and the team of the European Social Democratic Party of Moldova (PSDE).
„In the next four years, we will construct from the scratch underpasses in the most crowded intersections of the Chisinau city. We will also build express roads,’’ Vadim Branzaniuc said.
The president of the National Alternative Movement Party (MAN), Ion Ceban, tackled the issue on the municipal infrastructure in diverse sectors: pedestrian, transport, green areas, road, etc. The MAN leader referred to the sectoral results achieved in the last four tears, to strategic development projects underway, as well as to the medium- and long-term plans.
The candidate of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) for the position of Chisinau mayor, Adrian Albu, and the PSRM executive secretary, candidate for the office of municipal councilor Igor Dodon held a news briefing today. The event was focused on cheaper gas, electric and thermal energy for Chisinau. According to Igor Dodon, ‘’it is possible for the tariffs for thermal agent to be lower for the Chisinau residents.’’ Adrian Albu noted that a municipal enterprise was needed to be set up to this end, which is to negotiate lower prices for the Moldovan capital.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) informed that, starting from today, 16 October 2023 till 29 October 2023, the voters can verify the correctness of the compilation of the electoral lists both at the headquarters of the polling stations and online, by accessing the webpage www.verifica.cec.md.
Under the electoral legislation, the voter can appeal to the electoral bureau of the polling station which fits his/her residence, in order to request, based on the proving documentation, the inclusion or exclusion from the list, the correction of the errors committed at the putting down of the data about him/herself or other voters.
Also today, CEC informed that the ballot papers, electoral symbols of the political parties and the electoral bloc, registered as electoral contenders for the 5 November 2023 general local elections, had been approved for printing. Thus, the Central Electoral Commission approved, for printing in the ballot papers, the electoral symbols of the political parties and the Ruslan Codreanu electoral bloc, registered as electoral contenders for the general local polls, due on 5 November 2023.
