Moldovan PM: Challenges we face are great, but so is our determination to overcome them

Chisinau, Oct. 17 /MOLDPRES/- The challenges Moldova is facing are immense, but so is our determination to overcome them. Prime Minister Dorin Recean made the statement at the opening of the fourth edition of Moldova Support Platform, which brought together representatives of over 30 states and dozens of international and financial organizations in Chisinau.

“Our path has been marked by challenges that have tested our resilience, but with your generous support we have been able to withstand and overcome them. Today, we have gathered not only to take stock of what has been accomplished, but also to chart a course for a more prosperous and peaceful future. I have the privilege of thanking the international community and our valuable partners for standing by Moldova in these difficult times", said Dorin Recean.

The Prime Minister added that the war in Ukraine has left a lasting mark on our country, but despite the difficulties, our country has made major progress. "Our ambitions are realistic and we are working to develop the necessary capacities to implement projects worth several hundred million euros per year in infrastructure, energy efficiency, ecological transition and adaptation to climate change", he said.

Dorin Recean proposed the launch of discussions on how Moldova Support Platform could be adjusted to the new needs. "We need to focus and emphasize, in the future, long-term development priorities and transform the Support Platform into the Development Platform of Moldova, for example. This transition reflects our vision and will to take Moldova to the next level, to make our people stronger, to create a more stable, prosperous and secure nation. It is a proof of the maturity of our partnership and friendship, a recognition of the need to look ahead and firmly believe in a bright European future," the official said.

The fourth edition of the Moldova Support Platform is being held today in Chisinau. This is an initiative of Romania, Germany and France, which aims to generate immediate political, financial and material assistance, as well as expertise in the reform process, from the institutions and member states of the European Union, the G7 countries, international financial institutions and international organizations as well as other development partners.
