Sweden to help Moldova with 26 million euros to overcome winter

Chisinau, Oct. 18 /MOLDPRES/- Sweden donates 26 million euros in support of the energy supply and energy efficiency of the Republic of Moldova. The support will back vulnerable households in our country during the winter, contribute to long-term energy efficiency and the expansion of infrastructure in the country.
"Moldova was severely affected by Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Through this support package, we are assisting Moldova at this critical stage. This support will help vulnerable households survive the winter," said Sweden's Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Johan Forssell.
Out of 26 million euros, 17 million will be directed to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to support its activity in Moldova.
Sweden is one of Moldova's largest bilateral partners, providing nearly 17 million euros in ongoing support for reforms in 2023.
