Artists from eight countries to participate in International Festival of Choral Music in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - Over 30 choral formations from Moldova, South Africa, Argentina, Philippines, Macedonia, Romania, Spain and Ukraine will participate in the 16th edition of the International Festival of Choral Music, due to be held in Chisinau on 19-22 October.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the Musical and Choral Association of Moldova, one of the Festival’s organizers, Elena Marian, said that the festival’s goal was to promote the music art nationally and internationally. Four categories of formations will take part in the competition: children’s choirs, youth choirs, mixed and chamber choirs; they will be assessed by an international jury led by Valentina Bolduratu, according to a standard of 30 points.
The event is organized by the Musical and Choral Association, in partnership with the Culture Ministry, Culture Department of the Chisinau municipality, National History Museum of Moldova, National Ethnography and Natural History Museum, Metropolitan See of Chisinau and All Moldova and other institutions.
The first issue of the International Festival of Choral Music took place in 2007.
