Time of reaction to emergency calls to be shortened in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - The time of reaction to emergency calls will be shortened and the specialized services will intervene more quickly to help the citizens. The government today approved the transfer of the 112 single national service for emergency calls from the subordination of the Economic Development and Digitalization Ministry to the one of the Interior Ministry (MAI).

„Being the institution which manages the emergency intervention services, MAI will ensure the good work of the Public Institution and will exercise including the capacity of founder,’’ MAI said in a press release.

112 is the single number for the emergency calls. The call is for free. Citizens can ask for specialized intervention 24 ours from any fixed or mobile phone of Moldova and the entire European Union.

The 112 single national service for emergency calls became operational in Moldova in July 2018.
