Parliament adjusted social insurance budget for 2023

Chisinau, Oct. 20 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament approved amendments to the law on social insurance budget for 2023 in the second reading. The legislative initiative was voted by 75 MPs.

According to the project, total revenues to the state social insurance budget will be increased by 152 million lei - from 38.6 billion lei to 38.8 billion lei. Also, the expenses of the state social insurance budget will increase by 152 million lei and will reach 38.8 billion lei.

The increase in expenses is necessary for the additional allocation of 84 million lei for the increase by 250 lei of the monthly allowance by certain categories of disabled people, who fought in the World War II, who were involved in the liquidation consequences of Chernobyl accident, victims of political repressions, etc. In total, almost 37,000 citizens will benefit from the allowance increase. At the same time, 90 million lei will be spent on energy compensation.

The document also proposes the allocation of 21 million lei for the protection of the unemployed. The money is earmarked for the training of the unemployed, the scholarship and the subsidies by the state for the job creation.
