Salaries of medical staff in public medical and sanitary institutions to be increased by 15% as of 1 October

Chisinau, Oct. 20 /MOLDPRES/- Amendment to the Law on mandatory healthcare insurance funds (FAOAM) for 2023 was voted in the second reading by the Parliament. According to the draft law, set up by the Ministry of Health, both revenues and expenses of FAOAM will be increased by about 399 million lei or 12.8%.

Increase in expenses is necessary to increase by 15% the salaries of the medical staff in the public medical and sanitary institutions included in the system of compulsory medical assistance insurance, starting from October 1, 2023.

Over 69 million lei will be spent on the procurement of medical services for the provision of medical assistance to patients with acute stroke, as well as in special programs.
