DOC Decision on appointment of Ana Revenco as head of Strategic Communication and Combating Misinformation published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament decision on the appointment of Ana Revenco as director of the Centre for Strategic Communication and Combating Misinformation was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today.
Under the document, Ana Revenco is appointed to this office for a provisional term of 12 months.
The decision entered into force on the date of adoption and can be appealed in court in the term established by the provisions of the Administrative Code.
The candidacy of Ana Revenco was put forward by President Maia Sandu and subsequently approved by the parliament. During 2021-2023, Ana Revenco held the position of Interior Minister. She had earlier acted as adviser of the Moldovan president in the national defence and security sector, as well as secretary of the Supreme Security Council.
In last July, the parliament adopted the Law on the Centre for Strategic Communication and Combating Misinformation. The Centre’s task is to consolidate the cooperation between the institutions in the fight against misinformation, manipulation of information and interferences from abroad, which pose danger or can harm the national security and jeopardize the fulfillment of the national interests.
