Moldovan athletes won eight medals at 2023 Masters Open European Championships Modern Pentathlon

Chisinau, Oct. 23 /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan athletes won five gold medals and three silver medals at the 2023 Masters Open European Championships Modern Pentathlon. The competition was held for the first time in our country on October 20-22.

The best evolution was recorded by Nicolae Omelianov, who brought our country four distinctions. He won two gold medals in the individual event, and in the men's doubles, in a pair with Oleg Guler, he also took possession of a gold and a silver medal.

According to the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), in the relay event, the Republic of Moldova won two more gold medals - Sergiu Rusin/Mihail Constantinov, and in the mixed relay event - Olga and Sergiu Rotari.

The event brought together over 50 athletes from countries such as Spain, Greece, Turkey, France, Portugal, Ukraine and Moldova.
