GENERAL LOCAL ELECTIONS-2023 in Moldova: Synthesis of 23 October day

Chisinau, 23 October /MOLDPRES/ - The electoral agenda of the 23 October day included a news conference given by the president of the National Alternative Agenda Movement Party (MAN), Ion Ceban.
„For the first time for Moldova and especially for Chisinau, the MAN councilors will be distributed and in charge of concrete blocks of flats in each district. Thus, each resident will have a contact person and a direct relation with the Chisinau city hall, when heeded. Social support, repair in the yard, in the block of flats or any other issues will be able to be discussed with the councilor in charge of the district,’’ Ion Ceban said.
The candidate for the office of general mayor of the Chisinau city on behalf of the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE), Vadim Brinzaniuc, held a news conference on the subject of the capital’s economic development.
„Chisinau must become an engine of the national economy and a business hub and for this, a long-strategy is necessary, which is to comprise including the ensuring of attractive conditions for private companies. In the next four years, we will extend the present industrial parks from Ciocana, Sangera and Tracom and will turn them into economic hubs of regional importance in south-eastern Europe. Chisinau should have a strong industrial zone, which is to generate jobs and certainly, profit,’’ Vadim Brinzaniuc said.
Also today, the New Historical Option Political Party held a news conference titled, Ruslan Popa – future mayor of Chisinau combats and condemns the infantilism and MAN-elism from the Chisinau city hall. Popa accused the capital’s mayor of having solved no problem in the city. In this respect, the candidate of this party enumerated the traffic jams, ambrosia, the urban transport, etc.
The candidate for the position of Chisinau mayor on behalf of the Chance Party, Cristina Vulpe, today unveiled her electoral programme. The candidacy was backed by more party colleagues.
According to this formation, ‘’boisterous words and promises must be given up.’’ ‘’Let the deeds speak for our team. We have already an experience of successful transformation; but we can achieve a greater success only together. We will invest in children, in youth, in education, for a better future,’’ the Chance Party said.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today informed that amendments can be made to the lists of candidates till 26 October 2023 at the latest. The political parties and the electoral bloc can demand the change of the place of order or exclusion (withdrawal) of the candidate from the list registered or withdraw the entire list of candidates at the general local polls due on 5 November 2023.
Also, CEC reminds the voters about the possibility to verify online the correctness of the compilation of the electoral lists and the information on the polling station where they will vote on 5 November 2023.
The verification of the electoral list can be made by accessing the webpage www.verifica.cec.md, following the proper steps. To verify online what polling station they belong to, they will select the home address on the same page www.verifica.cec.md, at the heading, Learn Where You Vote, and will thus learn the information on the polling station related to the address.
The Central Electoral Commission also informed about the terms of demanding the authorization of the opinion polls on voters’ electoral preferences, exit-polls and registration of the interview operators on the electoral period of the general local elections due on 5 November 2023.
Thus, the applications for the authorization of opinion polls can be submitted to CEC till 25 October 2023. In the case of exit-polls, the applications will be submitted till 28 October 2023 at the latest.
