Moldovan parliament starts contest for selecting two candidates for position of member of Superior Council of Magistracy

Chisinau, Oct. 24 /MOLDPRES/- Today the Parliament launched a contest for selecting two candidates for the position of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy.
According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, interested people can apply for by November 10.
Candidates must meet several conditions: bachelor's degree in law or another relevant field; experience in the field of law and a well-known activity in the field of jurisprudence or in another relevant field of at least ten years; professional reputation and personal integrity; not to work when applying for within the legislative, executive or judicial power bodies. Also, candidates must not have a criminal record and must not be prohibited from holding public positions or public dignity.
People who do not pass the evaluation of the special commission will not be admitted to the next stage of the competition.
According to the legislation, the Superior Council of Magistracy is made up of 12 members. Six of them, who are not judges, are appointed by the Parliament, with the vote of three fifths of deputies.
