Chisinau, 24 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Customs Service (SV) carries out an information campaign, which includes topic-related sessions with the business environment, in order to familiarize the latter with the amendments due to be introduced with the entrance into force of the new Customs Code on 1 January 2024.
The first meeting today was held in the Briceni town, in which 40 representatives of the business environment from Moldova’s northern region participated. At the event, information was unveiled by specialists in the field of customs control, customs regimes, value in customs, origin of goods, IT, customs revenues, as well as by EU High Level Adviser on Customs and Tax Policy Rosario de Blasio.
„The amendments due to be introduced with the entrance into force of the provisions of the new Customs Code represent a subject of interest for the economic agents, residents of the free economic zones, customs brokers and specialists in customs examination. The information sessions are organized and held for a better understanding and enforcement of the new provisions, as well as for an exchange of information and opinions for the improvement of the services provided by the business environment,’’ the Customs Service noted.
At the dialogue, the institution’s representatives said that, with the approximation of the customs procedures to the EU’s ones, the business environment would have more benefits and the use of modern instruments and technologies of customs control will diminish the interaction with customs employees, as a new paperless and fully automated activity system will be implemented.
The information campaign is carried out by the Customs Service, with the European Union’s support, through the EU High-Level Advisers Mission project.
