Energocom company extends contract on purchasing of electric energy with power station from Transnistrian region till end of 2024

Chisinau, 25 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom stock company has extended the contract on purchasing of electric energy with the Moldovan power station from the Transnistrian region (MGRES) till the end of the 2024 year.   

The cost of the energy stays the same as in the last months - 66 dollars for one MWh.

According to the schedule accepted by the sides, in next November, MGRS will deliver about 275,000 MWh to the right bank, which accounts for over 90 per cent of the needs in electricity, excepting the thermal electric power stations from Chisinau and Balti and the ones from renewable sources.   

During the peak hours, if necessary, additionally, volumes of electric energy will be contracted from producers of Ukraine and Romania, as well as from the Romanian exchange OPCOM.

In winter, with the starting of the work of the heating stations which produce also electric energy, the volume of electricity purchased from MGRES will decrease to 230,000-250,000 MWh, which in terms of share, will account for about 65 per cent of the needs of the right bank of Dniester.   

According to Energocom, the contract with MGRES allows the consumers from the right bank of Dniester to have accessible tariffs as compared with other countries of the region.
