PHOTO Electoral body starts printing ballot papers for general local elections

Chisinau, Oct. 25 /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today started printing the ballots for the general local elections on November 5.
According to the CEC, in total, 7,669,667 ballots will be printed, of which 6,068,878 are in Romanian and 600,789 are in Russian.
For the mayor position, 2,143,410 ballots will be printed (1,734,088 in Romanian and 409,322 in Russian). At the same time, 2 143 410 ballot papers (1 734 088 in Romanian and 409 322 in Russian) will be printed for the position of councilor of the first level.
For the position of district/municipal councilor, 2,632,947 ballots will be printed (2,110,523 in Romanian and 522,424 in Russian). For Chisinau mayor and Balti mayor, a total of 749,900 ballots will be printed (490,179 in Romanian and 259,721 in Russian).
The length of the ballots differs according to the number of candidates registered.
For the election of Chisinau and Comrat municipal councils, where 35 and 56 electoral contestants were registered, respectively, the ballots will be printed in the form of a booklet.
The total value of the circulation of ballots for the general local elections is 5.7 million lei (about 285 thousand euros).
