Office of Moldova's liaison prosecutor at Eurojust opened in the Hague

Chisinau, 25 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Office of the Liaison Prosecutor of Moldova has been opened at the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust) from the Hague.
Mihail Ivanov was nominated as the first liaison prosecutor of Moldova at Eurojust. The appointment of the Moldovan prosecutor at Eurojust is based on the agreement on cooperation between Moldova and Eurojust, signed in July 2014 and which entered into force in October 2016.
The judicial cooperation between Moldova’s Prosecutor’s Office and Eurojust has been enhanced in the last five years. During 2018-2022, 91 cases involving Moldova were registered at Eurojust and 16 cases were recorded till 31 July 2023.
European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation facilitates the judicial coordination and cooperation between the national authorities through the providing of practical support to prosecutors in the fight against the serious cross-border criminality and terrorism.
