Moldovan president attends 20th anniversary of Foreign Investors Association

Chisinau, Oct. 25 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu participated in the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Foreign Investors Association of Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.
Maia Sandu expressed her appreciation for the Association's contribution to the economic development of the Republic of Moldova and emphasized that the government works for an open, free, digitized and business-friendly economy.
The association brings together 26 companies, from 15 countries, which have created over 23,000 jobs in our country, and since 2005 it has been publishing the White Paper - a document that recommends concrete actions to improve the investment climate, attract and maintain investments in the Republic of Moldova. The recommendations from the last edition 2021 were taken up by the Government of 87%, already found in several public policies. This fact is a proof of the receptivity of the authorities to the ideas and initiatives coming from the business environment.
The head of state said that the Republic of Moldova has strengthened connections with European states and around 60 percent of our exports go to the European Union. The official also said that investments are being made in the infrastructure that connects Moldova to the community space and in the energy sector, by building power lines to the west, improving energy efficiency and identifying renewable sources.
"We will continue deregulation and digitization - processes that will be doubled by the liberalization of the labor market and the reform of the capital market. To make Moldova more attractive for investors, we will promote investments in logistics and large infrastructure projects", said Maia Sandu.
The official also said that the authorities' priority is the fight against corruption, the justice reform and the modernization of public institutions in order to convince the big companies to come to us. The educational system is also in the process of reform to meet the demands of the labor market.
