Three representatives of political party detained in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - Employees of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA), jointly with officers of the National Investigations Inspectorate and of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), today made 65 searches in more settlements of Moldova, within a file on illegal financing of a political party. Three persons were detained following raids.    

According to PA, PYYPL bank cards, phones and tablets, in which the mobile application for management of transactions was set, financial means, 24 cartridges, lists with acts with participations in different events and the sums paid to participants, as well as special technology used in investigation actions were found at all persons searched.    

Following the raids, prosecutors collected evidence on the illegal financing of the territorial offices of the concerned party; registration of independent candidates, but confidentially backed by the party; forging of the signatures in the lists for the supporting and registration of candidates; payments of sums of 20,000 lei to candidates of the party; payment of sums worth from 500 lei to 3,000 lei to people who agree to vote for the candidates of this party; intention to fully corrupt the voters of some settlements.   

Also today, three people representatives of this party were detained. The investigations in the file continue.
