Moldova to receive European grants meant for Danube Region

Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will benefit from European grants for the financing of projects meant for the Danube Region. The parliament today ratified the agreement on financing between Moldova, European Commission and the Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary for the Interreg Danube Region Programme IV-B 2021-2027.
The beneficiaries from Moldova will be able to access grants worth 215 million euros provided by the European Commission for joint projects on social development in the Danube region, implemented by an enlarged transnational partnership.
The Danube Region Programme has the goal to improve the public policies and the institutional cooperation through the financing of the following priorities: competitiveness and intelligence, green communities and a better governance of the cooperation in the Danube region. The projects will contribute to the development of the cooperation between Moldova, the European Commission and the other 14 participating states.
The agreement on financing between Moldova, European Commission and the Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary for the Interreg Danube Region Programme IV-B 2021-2027 was signed on 11 August 2023. The programme’s overall budget is of 268.8 million euros, through the co-financing by the beneficiaries of at least 20 per cent of the project’s budget.
