National Institute for Education and Leadership to be set up in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 October /MOLDPRES/ - The processes of initial and continuous training of teachers and managerial staff will be modernized and the quality of teaching in the education institutions will be enhanced. In this respect, the cabinet today approved the foundation of the first National Institute of Education and Leadership. The action is part of those 20 priorities of the government, included in the We Edify European Moldova National Plan.  

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, 17 employees will work at the institution, which in 2024 will form a network of about 1,000 mentors, with additional salaries, chosen from the best teachers. The mentors will help the young specialists, probationers, as well as the colleagues in the professional development at the working place. Their involvement will back the education community to innovate and enforce efficient ways of teaching and leadership.   

Also, the National Institute of Education and Leadership will be in charge of the carrying out of the researchers in the field of training teachers, elaboration of methodological materials and guides, as well as of the initiation of national projects and cooperation in the branches managed. At the same time, the institution’s staff will carry out activities of promotion of the status of education staff in the society and encouraging young people to make a career in teaching.
