Thus, for today, no public event in an electoral context was announced, nor held, by the competitors.
At the same time, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announced that October 30, 2023 is the deadline for confirming journalists accredited by national media institutions and freelancers (bloggers and vloggers) to cover and monitor the general local elections of November 5, 2023 .
In accordance with the legislation in force, for the general coverage of the elections (protocol filming, including in the premises of the electoral bodies with the consent of the president of the electoral body, interviews, reports, etc.) journalists, including freelancers (bloggers and vloggers), perform their duties without any special permit.
At the same time, media representatives who, in addition to general coverage, intend to make use of the rights provided by Article 89 (6) of the Electoral Code, must obtain the status of observer. When submitting the application requesting confirmation, media institutions will present the entire list of journalists to be confirmed, as well as copies of the extracts regarding the institution's registration by the relevant public authorities.
The constituency electoral council will confirm upon request the journalists for covering the elections throughout the territory of the respective constituency.
