Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/ - The decision on the blocking of more web portals ‘’is part of the responses of Moldova’s authorities to protect the state and the democracy.’’ President Maia Sandu today made statements to this effect, after the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) had demanded the blocking of the work of 31 web portals.
President Maia Sandu stressed that ‘’the decision is part of the responses of the authorities from Moldova to protect the state and the democracy from the attempts of interference on behalf of Russia with the electoral process from our country.’’
SIS director Alexandru Musteata today demanded the blocking of the work of 31 web portals, of which 21 managed directly by Russia and six TV channels. The SIS head noted that ‘’in the last months, we have been noticing a boosting of the information attacks and an enhancement of the risks to the national security, with the latter having an exponential growth, especially on the electoral period.’’
