Romanian physician receives title of Doctor Honoris Causa of Nicolae Testemitanu Medical University of Moldova

Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Senate of the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) has awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to university professor Ioana Grigoras – PhD in medical sciences at the Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Iasi, Romania.
The ceremony of awarding the title took place during the University’s Days. In the opening of the festivity, Rector of the Chisinau-based Medical University Emil Ceban read the Laudatio, highlighting the fact that the high title had been awarded to the Romanian physician as a token of high appreciation of her outstanding merits and the substantial contribution to the development of the higher medical education, medical sciences and the society, in general.
„Professor Ioana Grigoras is a well-known personality, with an incontestable authority and reputation in Romania, Moldova and all over the world. She facilitated the participation of Moldovan physicians in diverse specialty forums in Romania. The textbooks, compendiums and methodological guidance of the professor are used in the process of education by students, resident physicians and practitioners at the departments of anesthesiology and reanimatology. She contributes to the training of young scientific staff through co-tutelage, participates directly as official reviewer or member of specialized scientific councils for the maintaining of doctor’s theses and theses of PhD in medical sciences,’’ Ceban stressed.
„I had the honour to become, several years ago, Associate Professor of USMF Nicolae Testemitanu and today I switched to another level. I was asked why I come so often to Moldova, in diverse forms of cooperation, which is the reason? The answer is simple: This is not my merit, but Yours. You gave me so much, that I was motivated to come; you have a wish of performance which impresses me,’’ Ioana Grigoras said.
Professor Ioana Grigoras was born on 21 December 1956. In 1981, she graduated from the Medicine Faculty of the Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Iasi, Romania. In the same year, she started the professional work at the Saint Spiridon County Hospital from Iasi as secondary physician at the Section of Intensive Anesthesiology and Reanimatology and subsequently she held more positions at this institution.
