Moldovan PM receives on visit delegation of OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights

Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has received on visit a delegation of the mission for observing the 5 November general local elections of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), led by Corien Jonker.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the agenda of the discussions included topical subjects, such as the regional security hit by Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine, the authorities’ actions to combat the hybrid threats meant to disturb the democratic processes, as well as the creation of a balance between the ensuring of the country’s security and the society’s needs.
„In the last years, Moldova has been facing numerous internal and external security challenges. We have peace today and we are able to cope with the hybrid threats, due to the professionalism of the state’s institutions. I urge you to analyze, in the long run, what is happening in all regions of the country,’’ PM Dorin Recean highlighted.
The OSCE/ODIHR mission will assess the local elections in terms of the observance of the OSCE commitments and other international duties and standards for the democratic elections, as well as of the national legislation.
