Moldovan head of state, vice president of Bulgaria visit together Taraclia city

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today went to Taraclia along with Vice President of Bulgaria Iliana Iotova. The two officials participated in the inauguration of the monument to the national hero of Bulgaria, Vasil Levski, on the occasion of the Day of the Bulgarian Enlighteners, the presidential press service has reported.
„The Bulgarian community from Taraclia is a valuable part of our country. The European future of Moldova means also the European future of the residents from Taraclia. The European Union means a community which provides opportunities, equality and security for each of its members, for all minorities and for all citizens. In the European family, the traditions of each ethnic group are embraced, the cultural diversity is encouraged and the people live in good understanding. This is what we what for Moldova, this is what we want for Taraclia,’’ the head of state noted.
The Moldovan president also said that, along with other European countries, important projects had been carried out in Taraclia – seven projects worth 24 million lei are implemented within the European Village programme, 26 km of roads were rehabilitated, the M3 road Chisinau-Giurgiulesti was renovated and we provided subsidies of 35 million lei for agriculture and rural development. Also today, the Moldovan cabinet approved a draft agreement on the transformation of the Grigore Tamblac State University of Taraclia into a branch of the Angel Kanchev University from the Bulgarian city of Ruse.
„We thank Bulgaria for the support of more important projects in Taraclia and for the backing provided in our European integration way and we are sure that the Bulgarian nation will support us on this decisive period for the future of Moldova,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
