Ocniţa high school renovated with Japan's support

Chisinau, Nov. 2 /MOLDPRES/- Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Yamada Yoichiro participated yesterday in the completion ceremony of Mihail Sadoveanu Theoretical High School renovation project in the city of Ocnița, financed by the Japanese Government, under the Kusanone Program. The grant worth about 76 thousand dollars was used to rehabilitate the internal stairs in the high school, change the doors and the lighting system.
The project contributed to creating best conditions for the education process, ensuring the health and safety of 528 students and 63 teachers and technical staff, according to the Embassy of Japan in our country.
"With the European Union, Moldova will make the most of its formidable human resources potential, as never before. EU membership will not only provide financial and technical assistance, or investments, but will also restore fairness and transparency in Moldova, good laws and regulations and social protection," Yamada Yoichiro said.
The Kusanone program was launched in Moldova in 2008. So far, Japan has provided non-reimbursable funding of 7.3 million dollars for 87 projects in the education, health and public utilities.
