Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/ - The so-called contract on the supply of natural gas published by the bashkan (governor) of Gagauzia is a falsehood and cannot be carried out. Energy Minister Victor Parlicov today made statements to this effect, after bashkan Evghenia Gutul had said that the residents of the autonomy might pay a tariff of 10 lei for one cubic metre of gas and published an alleged contract in this respect.
„We are in electoral campaign and they make promises before the elections. These are electoral promises which have nothing in common with the reality. If there was gas on market at such prices, the government would have bought it. There is no lower price but the one at which Energocom buys. The cabinet purchases and looks for cheap gas and we do this for all citizens of Moldova, not for certain regions,’’ the energy minister said.
According to the official, the identification data of the companies, the seal are lacking on the alleged contract. ‘’We have already confirmations that this contract is practically fake. The company from Turkey with which the contract was allegedly made denies dealing with gas. And there is no data on work on the gas market about the company from Germany either. This company manages a cake shop. The identification data of the companies, the seal of the company from Turkey are lacking on the sheets published,’’ Victor Parlicov said.
The minister noted that the government, through the Energocom Company, was the entity which tries to find cheap gas for all citizens of Moldova and not only for certain regions. ‘’All the summer long we bought at a better price; presently, we have certainty for consumers – for all consumers - as to the prices and resources,’’ the minister said.
Victor Parlicov conveyed a message in the Russian, Gagauz and Bulgarian languages to the citizens. ‘’Dear citizens, the contract published is a falsehood and cannot be carried out. They make promises before the elections without intention to fulfill them and those who are really looking for cheap gas for all consumers of Moldova are us, those from the government, through the Energocom company,’’ Parlicov added.
The energy minister’s reaction comes after the bashkan of Gagauzia, Evghenia Gutul, said that the residents from the autonomy might pay a tariff of 10 lei for one cubic metre of gas, publishing also an alleged contract to this effect.
