Chisinau, Nov. 3 /MOLDPRES/- SIS head Alexandru Musteață organized a briefing today and announced that the institution's operative and analytical data show the preparation and implementation in our country of a subversive scenario of external interference from Russia.
Starting from the second half of 2022, our country is subject to a hybrid war financed by Russia. The SIS head said that the Republic of Moldova is not the only country subject to "hybrid aggression" from the Russian Federation.
"The hybrid war waged by Russia in Moldova and some criminal groups intensified in the second half of 2022 through the attempt to overthrow the constitutional order and seize power, the amplification of separatist tendencies in the southern area of the Republic of Moldova, especially Gagauzia; interference of the Russian Federation in the electoral process; propaganda and alteration of the information space; as well as the exploitation of elements of organized crime by altering the electoral and democratic process", said Musteață.
He said that after the outlawing of the Shor Party, leader Ilan Shor would have migrated the party's activity to a new formation - Chance Party. It is to this formation that large sums of money were transferred to corrupt the electoral process, including from Russia.
Musteață noted that so far, hundreds of employees of the MAI, SIS and the Prosecutor's Office are involved in investigating the criminal activity of the new Chance Party and other formations led by Ilan Shor.
