Moldovan Justice Ministry announces contest for 33 offices of notaries

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Justice Ministry today announced that it had updated the number of places of notaries needed all over Moldova and put up 33 offices of notary for contest.
Although the law on the organization of notaries’ work sees that the needed number of notaries is established by the Justice Ministry, once in three years, following the consultation of the Notary Chamber, which was not been done since 2016. For this reason, on the last period, the Justice Ministry has received more notifications on behalf of citizens and local public authorities on the lack of notaries in some districts.
Under the Regulation on the establishment of the necessary number of notaries and updating of the number of places of notary, the criteria which are taken into account are as follows: the number of residents in the area of notary activity; the area of the territory of notary activity; the economic needs (volume and type of notary acts); ceiling of the incomes resulted from the notary activity (notary’s financial independence).
The legislation stipulates that one place of notary is assigned for the Chisinau and Balti municipalities for each 10,000 residents and for each district and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia – one place of notary for each 15,000 residents, but not less than 3 places for each area of notary activity.
