Greece set to open diplomatic mission in Moldova in 2024

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has had a meeting with First Deputy Parliament Speaker of Greece Ioannis Plakiotakis. The official is in Chisinau on these days, to participate, along with another about 20 delegations, in a meeting of the presidents of the Committees on EU Affairs and of the Committees on Foreign Affairs, United4Moldova, hosted by the parliament, the legislative body’s communication public relations department has reported.
At the meeting, the First Deputy Parliament Speaker of Greece informed about the intention of Greece to open a diplomatic mission in Moldova in 2024. ‘’This is an extra proof that the relations between the two countries are very good and we must strengthen them at the parliamentary level as well. I was happy to hear that we can rely on the support of the parliament of Greece in our European integration way,’’ Igor Grosu said.
Another important subject of the discussions was the energy security. Moldova is set to develop the cooperation in this sector, as Greece has a quite important role in the distribution of gas regionally.
