Young man notifies police on corrupting of local residents by representative of Moldovan political party in exchange for votes

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - A citizen from southern Moldova today notified the police about the fact that a representative of a political party would corrupt local residents in exchange of votes.
Following the documentation, policemen found out that a young 19-year-old man from Comrat was involved in the illicit activity.
According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), the man, based on a list which included elderly people, was distributing financial means in envelopes, with 50 euros in each one, on condition of getting votes by illegal means.’’
IGP noted that ‘’the man had on him 17 envelopes with message on behalf of the person who manages the concerned party and, according to him, he was remunerated with 100 euros, to be able to go to the settlement to distribute the money.’’ According to the man’s statements, other people were acting along with him too.
The young man is in custody of the police and is to be documented by the criminal prosecution group of the South National Anticorruption Centre.
