Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s parliament today hosted the first meeting of the Committees on European Affairs and Committees on Foreign Affairs of the EU member states, United4Moldova. President Maia Sandu gave a speech at the event, the presidential press service has reported.
„Today in parliament, I welcomed about 80 representatives of the parliaments of the European states and ambassadors. They came to Chisinau, as we, the Moldovans, had made a choice – we chose the European way. And soon, the EU states will have to do a choice themselves – our acceptance as potential members of the European family. I asked them to go to their capitals and persuade the European leaders to choose a European future for Moldova as well,’’ the Moldovan head of state said.
In her speech, the president stressed that Moldova’s citizens had no other choice – they will never choose the war, they will not choose poverty, they cannot choose a future of terror.
„Our choice is only about the European living standards which we want to have all over Moldova, is about what kind of society we want to edify. A society in which all citizens are free to speak, free to think, free to live good at home. Our choice is clear and firm,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
