Moldovan General Police Inspectorate says transport means move in conditions of rain

Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - Law-enforcers have warned drivers that the traffic was in conditions of rain on the roads of Moldova, which reduces the visibility much.   

In these conditions, the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) warns drivers to show maximal prudence. „It is important that the you avoid the sharp breaking and acceleration; drive with speed adapted to the weather conditions of traffic; keep the distance between vehicles. At the same time, do not use the phone while driving and do not forget that the most dangerous manoeuvre in the conditions of a wet roadway is the outrunning. In case of a defect, the warning retroreflective triangle must be placed at a much larger distance,’’ IGP said.

Law-enforcers came up with recommendations also for pedestrians. ‘’It is important that, during rain, the risk not to be seen is high and the breaking distance of the transport means increases,’’ IGP also said.  

Meteorologists informed about a Yellow Code of atmospheric instability all over the country for today, during 14:00-24:00. On this period, thunderstorm rains are expected, heavy ones in some regions, with quantities of water between 15 and 45 litres on one square metre.
