Moldovan president: Voting means people's power

Chisinau, Nov. 5 /MOLDPRES/- I urge all citizens of the Republic of Moldova to vote because voting means the power of the people. We all want to live in a country and localities that are governed by the power of the people. President Maia Sandu made the statement, after having cast vote at the general local elections.
"First of all I voted, as I have done every time and I will always vote because democracy is based on our vote. I voted for people whom I trust will work honestly, responsibly, dedicatedly for the good of Chisinau residents. I voted for people who will help carry out the European integration project of the Republic of Moldova, because European integration means peace, respect for every citizen and well-being", said Maia Sandu.
The head of state urged all citizens to vote.
Citizens eligible to vote in the Republic of Moldova today elect mayors and councilors at the general local elections. 1,958 polling stations were opened at 07:00. The voting procedure will end at 21.00. 2,758,810 voters are expected at the polls.
