Moldovan parliament speaker says votes for European capital

Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - I voted for a European capital and a mayor who will attract far-reaching investments and projects. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has made statements to this effect following the exercising of the right to vote at the general local elections.
The speaker came to the polling station with his wife. Grosu noted that he had voted for a mayor and councilors who are to represent the Moldovans. ‘’We want a European capital and a mayor who will attract good investments and projects. All of us want a nice, well-arranged city, without traffic jams,’’ Igor Grosu said.
The official also said that, at present, the most pressing problems in the capital are: agglomerated traffic, chaotic development and lack of the social infrastructure.
In the end, the speaker urged the citizens to exercise their right to vote for a better future.
General local elections take place in Moldova today. The citizens are to elect 898 mayors and 11,058 councilors. As many as 2,758,810 electors are expected to vote.
