PM says he votes for Moldova's European future

Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean today said that he had voted for Moldova’s European future at the general local elections. The official urged the citizens to participate in the voting, as ‘’the future of our country is decided today.’’ PM Dorin Recean today made statements to this effect at the exit from the polling station, where he went to exercise the right to vote along with his wife.
„I voted for the European future of Moldova, so that we have really European settlements, where we would like to live. I encourage everybody to go to vote. It is quite important that we go to vote today, as beyond the mayors, we elect also the councilors today and there will be no runoff election for the councilors. I encourage also the young people to necessarily vote, as the future of Moldova is decided today,’’ Dorin Recean said.
The prime minister also said that the state’s institutions would supervise the public order and would make sure that the vote is free and fair.
General local elections are held in Moldova today. According to data by the Central Electoral Commission, about 820,000 electors voted till 15:00, which represents about 30 per cent of the voters included in the electoral lists.
