Promo-LEX signals about 1,000 incidents at general local elections in Moldova till 19:00

Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - The observers of the Promo-LEX association till 19:00 reported 994 signalings of incidents at the general local elections held today. A number of 527 out of these incidents have been already processed.   

Most of the incidents reported regard the unjustified group voting – 47 cases; photographing of ballot papers and other infringements of the secret of voting – 43 cases; deficiencies in the electoral lists – 40 cases. At the same time, Promo-LEX observers registered in 22 cases the unjustified presence of unauthorized people at the headquarters of the polling station or in the area of 100 metres, 18 cases which regard deficiencies in the work of the Elections automated information system, 10 cases were problematic situations as to the use of ballot papers contrary to procedures and nine cases of electoral agitation in the perimeter of 100 metres  from or at the headquarters of the polling station.  

According to data by Promo-LEX, observers registered one case of organized carriage of voters and two situations in which they signaled rumours, attempts or even situations of material rewards provided to voters in the perimeter of 100 metres far from the polling station. 

At the today’s general local polls, Promo-LEX delegated 602 static observers, including at all polling stations from the Balti and Chisinau municipalities, as well as 237 polling stations from the rest of the country, selected based on a representative sample. Also, the electoral process from the rest of the polling stations, in their immediate neighbourhood, and the routes of access to them are monitored also by another 142 observers grouped in 71 mobile teams.
