Moldovan General Police Inspectorate: no major infringements or incidents recorded in voting process

Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - The General Police Inspectorate (IGP) has informed that no major infringements or incidents were recorded in the voting process. At the same time, the ones about which the police was notified were reported to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) and will be documented according to the competence.
IGP said that law-enforcers had ensured the public order nearby the polling stations and enforced the legal provisions firmly and with correctness.
„We thank our colleagues who exercised their office powers for the ballot to be held based on the law, for the ensuring of security nearby the polling stations and, at the same time, for the involvement in the rest of the activities which we to carry out,’’ the institution noted.
Also, IGP stressed that ‘’the good carrying out of the electoral process was due to the citizens, who understood the need to adopt a correct behavior.’’
General local elections were held in Moldova today. The polling stations closed at 21:00. The preliminary results of the elections are to be announced at 22:00.
