Deputy head of forest district from south Moldova detained in action with bribe

Chisinau, 6 November /MOLDPRES/ - The deputy head of the Leova forest district has been recently detained by officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) in a file of passive corruption. He was caught in action when receiving an illegal remuneration of 10,000 lei (about 500 euros) from an economic agent.
According to CNA, the suspect, along with the head of the forest district, would have claimed from a local resident the aforementioned sum, in order to provide him contracts on providing services in cutting woods and allow him take out the surplus of wood.
The detaining took place at the Sarata Noua district, Leova district and the money was submitted under CNA’s control was found out on the suspect.
The deputy head of the Leova forest district was placed in isolation ward for 72 hours. Also, the head of the institution has the status of suspect and is prosecuted at large.
