Governmental programme 373 in Moldova: almost half a billion of lei invested in development of small-, medium-sized enterprises

Chisinau, 6 November /MOLDPRES/ - The opportunities of financing and the additional benefits provided through the 373 Programme on support of entrepreneurs, as well as the success stories of the first 100 business people from Moldova today were unveiled at an event with the participation of Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Digitalization and Economic Development Ministry Dumitru Alaiba and the director of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, Dumitru Pintea and the programme’s beneficiaries, the government’s communication sand protocol department has reported.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked the entrepreneurs for their contribution to the development of Moldova and referred to the results registered in those four months since the launch of the programme. On this period, about 100 small- and medium-sized enterprises have benefited from loans worth over 400 million lei and this figure is growing. The beneficiary enterprises considerably enhanced the productivity and increased the number of jobs by an average of 20 per cent, generating new opportunities of settlements’ development.
„We see already a very good result; we have almost half a billion of lei investments in the development of businesses. Our goal is to encourage the medium- and long-term investments for the small- and medium-sized enterprises from all sectors of the national economy. Our objective is to create as many jobs as possible, to enhance the productivity, which will allow us providing higher incomes to physicians, teachers, pensioners,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.
Digitalization and Economic Development Ministry Dumitru Alaiba said that the 373 programme on support of enterprises was an example of cooperation between the state’s institutions, the banking sector and private environment, in order to develop the national economy and ensure the economic growth.
„The role of the state is to carry out the reforms needed by the business people, through reducing the bureaucracy, providing access to financing, opening of new sales markets, export’s promotion. These are our priority goals which will be achieved one after another,’’ Minister Alaiba noted.
At the event, entrepreneur Victoria Rusnac, who holds a business of producing honey, said that, due to the advantageous loan provided through the 373 programme, the enterprise’s productivity was enhanced substantially. The honey of the trademark, Honey House, is exported to Germany, the USA, Japan and Canada.
Presently, companies from the sectors of agriculture, health transport, energy from diverse regions of Moldova benefited from opportunities of the 373 programme. Through this financing instrument, the government subsidizes the loans on the credits for the investment needs of enterprises with up to 3 per cent for loans in foreign currency and 7 per cent for loans in Moldovan lei.
Starting from the next year, the government is set to increase the ceiling of crediting up to 30 million lei, as well as to provide a crediting guarantee for the enterprises which do not have enough deposit. Also, components of grant are to be provided for specific fields, such as backing businesses launched for young people, women, domestic producers, development of the rural tourism and other sectors.
