Physicians from more countries assemble at scientific conference in Moldova capital

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ - Experts, researchers and practitioners in the medicine sector have assembled in Chisinau at a national conference titled, Stronger together for patients sick with celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitive diseases, thus marking the European Cooperation Day 2023
The conference was organized by the Office of Management of External Assistance Programmes and National Contact Point of the Danube Transnational Programme in Moldova.
The participants in the event tackled subjects on the current challenges and the management of the celiac disease within the project, CD SKILLS – Improvement of the management of the celiac disease in the Danube region through enhancement of the degree of awareness, improvement of knowledge and development of better skills. The project is implemented by the Nicolae Testemitanu State University jointly with 18 partners from nine countries.
The celiac disease is a hereditary disease characterized by the systemic reaction to gluten, present in wheat, barley or rye. Presently, 67 people are recorded in the electronic register of patients sick with celiac disease, but they believe that the real number of these patients is much larger.
