PM meets Moldovan citizens evacuated from Gaza Strip in Chisinau

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/ - Thirty six Moldovan citizens evacuated from the Gaza Strip arrived in Chisinau today and were met by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The people were evacuated through the Rafah border crossing point, where they were met by a consular employee of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), who provided them with the assistance needed; the consular official also provided the evacuated Moldovans with provisional travel documents and facilitated them the transit to Cairo. Also, the Moldovan citizens were provided with food products, strictly needed products and health insurances.
The Moldovan citizens flew from Cairo to Bucharest by a special plane, with the flight organized by the Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry. Subsequently, they arrived in Chisinau by a transport means made available by Moldova’s authorities.
„You proved courage in complicated moments and after a long journey you have made, we are happy that you are in safety, at home, in Moldova,’’ the prime minister told the people who arrived in the country.
The PM emphasized the contribution of the MAEIE’s team, as well as of other national institutions involved in the complex process of people’s evacuation. Prime Minister Dorin Recean also expressed gratitude to the partner countries – Romania, Ukraine, the United States, Egypt and Israel – for the support provided for this operation.
