Over 13,000 citizens call ambulance in Moldova in last week

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 13,307 people, of whom 1,862 children, asked for the intervention of ambulance in the last week. Following the providing of emergency medical assistance, 5,332 patients were carried to hospital.
According to the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Centre (CNAMUP), last week, the ambulance was called for patients with the following emergencies: 3,435 – cardiovascular, of whom 63 with acute coronary syndrome; 1,973 – neurological emergencies, of whom 225 with cerebral vascular accidents, 1,661 - respiratory emergencies; 1,261 – injuries and 122 – infectious emergencies.
Emergency medical assistance teams were called for 59 traffic accidents which occurred on Moldova’s roads, in the wake of which 75 people were injured, of whom 64 adults and 11 children.
On the same period, 25 toxic emergencies were recorded, of which 17 cases with medicines and nine ones with alcohol, 3 with drugs and one case of intoxication with mushrooms.
At the same time, 33 calls were registered at the CNAMUP office on grounds of emergencies triggered by physical, chemical and environmental agents, of which 18 combustions; 13 people with bites of animals or stings of insects, as well as two persons with hypothermia.
